One Day Daintree Adventure Self Drive

One day in the Daintree includes jungle surfing, Cape Tribulation, a wildlife cruise on the Daintree River, and is hosted by Back Country Bliss Adventures.

0700: An early start to give plenty of time for exploring and adventure.

0900: Walk along the famous Cape Tribulation beach and on one of the scenic boardwalks (early enough to beat all the crowds) learning about the diversity of the rainforest.

0945: Now it’s time to meet our jungle surfing guides who will take us deep into the forest as we get harnessed up and ready for an exhilarating 1.5hr trip through the jungle canopy of the rainforest, with amazing views across the Daintree and Coral Sea. Don’t forget your camera!

1145: Back on the road again, stopping off along the way for a tropical picnic lunch and refreshments. Visiting a local ice cream factory is a must, as home grown tropical fruits are made into delicious ice creams. Jackfruit, Black Sapote, Passionfruit and wattle seed are just some of the flavours to savour.

1300: A river cruise spotting wildlife on the Daintree River. We look for the elusive Saltwater Estuarine Crocodile, rainforest frogs, birdlife and the Spectacled Flying Fox. (Another option is a walk with the Kuku Yalanji elders, local custodians of the Mossman Gorge to learn about bush tucker, medicines and Dreamtime stories as we wander this ancient area. Didgeridoo and damper are served to top off a great day out!)

1630: Return to Port and 1730 to Cairns.

All refreshments, tropical picnic lunch and snacks are included. It is advised to wear comfortable clothing for touring including closed in shoes for jungle surfing. (Please no skirts. Shoe hire can be arranged). Weight restrictions apply for jungle surfing. Bring sunglasses and sunhat. A change of clothes may be required should conditions be wet!
