
Daintree Night Wildlife Spotting & Nature
This fantastic evening tour (approx 5 hours) involves being shown through the World Heritage listed Daintree River, as your river guide highlights the nocturnal animals indigenous to the Wet Tropics and Australia.
After the cruise we search the lowlands for various creatures including sugar gliders, dragons, micro bats, reptiles, insects and marsupials.
- 1700: Pick up from your Port Douglas or Daintree accommodation and begin your night time journey with a scenic sunset drive past sugar cane, coastal communities and into the rainforest.
- 1800: Join a sunset Daintree River cruise spotting the flying fox colonies taking flight for their evening hunting and other bird and reptile species.
- 1915: Optional Dinner in Daintree – more information to be supplied after speaking with the clients to determine the style of meal required. Restaurant or BBQ options.
- 2000: After refuelling we search the lowlands – coastal, rainforest and transitional forests around the Douglas Shire for the elusive nocturnal animals and insects.
- 2200: Approximate return to Port Douglas accommodation.
