Butterfly Bend is a bespoke two-storey pole home nestled under the canopy of the Daintree Rainforest and suspended above a charming fresh water creek. The guest house occupying the entire lower storey is a rustic, open plan entertaining space featuring soaring structural iron bark poles, exposed cypress pine beams and balcony and courtyard access.
Suitable for one to two guests, the space features a queen bed and a single day bed sharing common area. There is also a lounge, dining table, laundry, bathroom and an additional outdoor shower, ideal for rinsing off after the beach. The kitchen comprises a small bar fridge with freezer and a Baby Weber Q (barbecue) for cooking.
The bar, pool table, bocce, board games, picnic basket, binoculars, wildlife books, novels and magazines offer a variety of in-house entertainment options. Double doors open to a quaint outdoor garden courtyard. Guests can sit here and enjoy the sounds and sights of the rainforest or access the walkway to the creek for exploration or swimming. The private balcony with seating and hammock provides another spectacular vantage point of the rainforest, creek and wildlife. Under deck lighting illuminates the scene for ongoing enjoyment at night.
For the comfort of guests, a landline phone, local directory, wireless Internet and first aid kit are provided. Towels, linen, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are also supplied, along with cereal, juice, milk coffee, sugar, olive oil and pepper provisions.
Hosts Amanda and Mark live in the home upstairs, and are happy to offer advice or answer questions at any time. Otherwise guests will be left to enjoy their privacy.
A wonderful destination in its own right, Butterfly Bed is also a desirable base for exploring the Cape Tribulation coast and famous World Heritage sites, Daintree National Park and the Great Barrier Reef.
