The Daintree Gateway covers the southern and northern areas surrounding the Daintree River vehicle ferry which transports all traffic across the River.
There is prominent signage at the Lower Daintree turnoff on the Mossman-Daintree Road. Ahead the road takes you to Daintree Village. The right-hand turnoff leads to the ferry and onwards to Cape Tribulation, the 4WD Bloomfield Track and Cooktown.
Shortly before you reach the ticket booth for the ferry there is a large parking area on the left with river-tour booking kiosks, pontoon, public boat ramp and toilets.
On the north side of the river, to the left of the ferry off-ramp, there is also a pick-up and drop-off point for tour passengers.
The Daintree Marketing Co-Operative acknowledges the custodianship of the Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef by the local Kuku Yalanji people whose rich cultures, heritage values, enduring connections and shared efforts protect our natural assets for future generations, and we pay our respect to elders past, present and emerging.
