The Bat House

An accredited Wet Tropics Environmental Interpretation Centre, the Bat House provides detailed information on the local environment - both rainforest and reef,information on local walks and activities and on some aspects of the history of this fascinating place. Visitors can take the "Bringing Back the Rainforest self-guided tour, where they can see the whole process of rehabiliting land that was cleared in 1970 for cattle. There is always a resident pet flying fox in attendance.

Bruce Belcher's Daintree River Cruises

Bruce Belcher has been guiding on the Daintree River for 22 years. He operates his one hour tours on a covered 24-seater boat and focuses on crocodile spotting which is successful on 98% of tours, particularly in cooler months.Other wildlife is also frequently spotted, including snakes and birds. The tour is personalised and begins with a scenic walk to a private jetty.Binoculars are provided and also an interpretation on the ecosystem and many other aspects which the Daintree area has to offer.

Jungle Adventures Night Walks

Jungle Adventures don’t need to build you a time machine; they’ll just give you a torch and take you to a world little changed in 120 million years! Many rainforest creatures are nocturnal so your guide will keep a look out for snakes, lizards, frogs, spiders, bandicoots, birds, insects and more as you learn about the dark side of the forest. Walks follow natural trails, take around two hours and require moderate fitness. Torches and raincoats are provided and walks depart daily at 7.30pm.
