Destination Daintree

Although most tours, accommodation providers and restaurants are open all year round some have reduced operating hours, or may even close for a short time for renovations or the owner's/manager's own holiday during the traditionally quieter rainy season months from January through to March.   If unsure, we suggest an email or phone call before you book.

The "green season" has it's own special magic when sometimes spectacular rainfall ensures waterfalls and creeks are in full spate and the rainforest, birds, plants, frogs and wildlife are all vibrantly alive - there really is nothing quite like the sight, sound and even smell of warm tropical rain!  But there are always days or weeks of beautiful sunshine as well.

There is also a chance of very heavy rain, or even a cyclone, causing some roads to become impassable, usually for a short time - simply listen to weather reports and plan your activities accordingly.
