A locally owned and run tour operator, Cape Tribulation Horse Rides offers the only beach horseback riding experience in the region. In operation since 1981, sustainability is at the heart of the organisation - we are dedicated to providing a unique and enriching travel experience. No previous experience is necessary, and our expert guides cater to all levels from those who have never been on horseback before up to experienced riders. The horses walk only - no trotting or galloping.
After saddling up, learning the basics and be paired with a horse suited to your ability level. When you leave the stables, you follow the guide through the majestic Daintree Rainforest. Discover an abundance of local flora and fauna as you weave through the rainforest and across several creek crossings on your way to Myall Beach. Once there you will explore the beautiful stretch of golden sand and have the opportunity to walk your horse into the shallow waters of the ocean - when water clarity permits. Take a minute to soak in this incredible moment and look at the juxtaposing landscapes that surround you. You will be given a dry bag for your camera at the commencement of your tour so you can capture that Insta-worthy shot!
Tours run twice daily with the Mid-Morning Beach Ride departing at 10 am and the Afternoon Beach Ride departing at 1.30 pm.
Cape Tribulation Horse Rides provides a selection of helmets, boots, dry bags and wet weather jackets. All riders are required to wear closed in shoes, long pants and long-sleeved shirts.
